accreditation of operation

Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman has recently signed the certificate of accreditation that allows the continuation of operation of the Saint Francis House as the first and longest existing orphanage in Zamboanga City.

The DSWD's accreditation is issued every after three years before another inspection is done on social welfare facilities. The certificate was presented during the thanksgiving celebration of the St. Francis House last Sunday at the Astoria Regency.

Fr. Arthur Winikoff, founder of the St. Francis House which was established in Zamboanga City in 1987 by the Our Blessed Mother of Victory Mission Foundation Inc., personally received the accreditation from the DSWD representative.

The almost 100 wards of the St. Francis House were taken to a treat to Astoria Regency's swimming pool for a picnic and the thanksgiving program celebration, which lasted until the wee hours of Nov.1.

Several guests from the business, religious, political and non-government organizations were invited during the event. City Councilors Aljihan Edding and Rommel Agan were among the city officials present.
